A sightseeing combo, the Casa Bacardí Factory and Old San Juan tour is an incredible journey into Puerto Rican architecture and the history of the rum industry. Travel back in time to discover one of the world’s best-preserved Spanish colonial cities which has remained intact for the past 500 years, seeped with fascinating history, culture and Spanish heritage.

Enjoy an old San Juan walking tour through Fort San Cristobal and the grounds of Fort San Felipe Del Morro (the oldest structure within the US National Parks). Learn the history of the largest fortification built by the Spanish in the New World and how these forts defended the entrance of the San Juan Bay from land attacks by the Dutch, English, pirates and new colonial states.

In Old San Juan you will visit the capitol building, the San Juan Cathedral, plazas, churches, cemetery, hotels, restaurants, museums and shopping areas. The visit to the Bacardi Factory (known as the rum cathedral) defines why Puerto Rico is called the Rum Capital of the World.

TAXI OR TOUR (RIDESHARE) SERVICES

  • Taxis are available in tourist areas and hotels. Uber is available in Puerto Rico.

BY CAR (EASTERN SIDE OF PUERTO RICO)

 

If you driving from San Juan, Condado, Isla Verde or the eastern side of the island.

 

  • Take Highway 22 West towards Bayamon.

  • Take exit 7A, Route 165 towards Cataño .

  • At the bottom of the ramp, turn straight through the light to route 165.

  • Take the third exit on the right.

  • At the end of the exit ramp, turn right.

  • The main gate of Casa BACARDÍ is on the left.

BY CAR (WESTERN SIDE OF PUERTO RICO)

 

If you driving from Dorado or the western side of the island.

​

  • Take the exits to Highway 22 East to Bayamon and San Juan.

  • Take exit 7A, Route 165 towards Cataño .

  • Continue to the right at the bottom of the ramp and straight through the light to route 165.

  • Turn right at the third exit.

  • At the end of the exit ramp, turn right.

  • The main gate of Casa BACARDÍ is on the left

OLD SAN JUAN FERRY

 

  • The ferry is available from Old San Juan Pier 2.

  • It leaves every 30 minutes and is ($.50) fifty cents each direction.

  • When you arrive at Cataño pier, you will find taxis at the bus station itself.

  • Casa BACARDÍ is a short two-mile taxi ride away..
